Whales Snatch Late Win
Lake Murray got a big-time effort from pitcher Juan Romero, but it wasn't enough to keep the Virginia Beach Whales from winning the game, 4-3. Romero threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Virginia Beach reliever Carlos Mejía picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Miguel Hernández was saddled with the loss. Virginia Beach is now 2-4.

Virginia Beach used a clutch hit from John Robinson to snatch the win. The designated hitter belted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Whales ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Robinson said.
