Tacoma Wins, 2-1, in Extra Innings
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders, behind a great outing from Roger Butt defeated the Yakima Hops, 2-1, at Ballpark of Tacoma. Tacoma reliever Brad Hickton picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Marv Thomas was tagged with the loss. The win lifts Tacoma to a record of 2-5.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Tacoma shortstop Todd Davis, facing Marv Thomas, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Fur Traders the 2-1 win.
"Roger pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Tacoma manager Jeff Rutherford.
