Despite a great performance by Yakima first baseman Thomas Austin, the Squirrel Hill Pierogis defeated the Hops by the score of 5-3 at Field of the Rawhides. Austin went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Cipriano Flores, who is rated as the 50th best prospect by BNN, nailed down the save. The win lifts Squirrel Hill to a record of 3-5.

Squirrel Hill went in front, 4-3, on Shan-tang Zhou's 3rd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Zhou hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Yakima pitcher Rob Dougherty visibly perturbed.
