Miners Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
|
In a tight affair between the Marquette Miners and the Virginia Beach Whales, pitcher Mike Schmitt was in the zone. The Marquette right-hander helped his team win the game, 1-0. In 5.2 innings, Schmitt surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Quincy Rose recorded the save for Marquette, his 2nd of the season.
