Casper turned a good effort from starter Marvin Johnson into a win over the Richland Rails at The Graveyard. The final score was 5-0. Maxwell Powers earned the save, his 2nd. Casper has a mark of 7-2 after the win.
There were several reasons the Ghosts beat the Rails, but one factor was Darrel Baker. In the bottom of the first, the Casper right fielder came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 1-0 lead.
Said losing manager Ludovic Fontaine: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
