Cangrejos Fantasmas Pull Out Late-Game Win, 4-3
|
The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas picked up a win at The Graveyard, topping the Casper Ghosts, 4-3. On the mound for Chesapeake was right-hander Lorenzo García. He played a principal role in the triumph. Dwayne Castillo was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Hai-feng Zhu. The triumph makes Chesapeake 6-4, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2063.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Alan Peck? The 26-year old center fielder Peck stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Chesapeake up, 4-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Peck.
