The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids opened their season in style with a blowout win over the New Orleans Voodoo at Atlantica. The final score was 12-2. Northern Virginia designated hitter José Mondragon led the attack. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
