Ft. Worth got a valiant performance from pitcher Jeff McFarland, but it wasn't enough to beat the New Orleans Voodoo. New Orleans won the game, 1-0. McFarland threw 8.1 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Reliever Melis Ooyendijk picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Marc Potts, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2047 draft, took the loss. New Orleans has a record of 4-2.
The Voodoo got a clutch hit from designated hitter Mauro Quijano. In the bottom of the ninth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Voodoo.
"It makes it a little nicer in the clubhouse when we win," said Quijano. "It eases the tension."
