Dolphins Down Whales, 7-1
|
The 7-1 Pine Island win over Virginia Beach was due largely to Jon Turner. The Dolphins right fielder was 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Wladimir van Munster, 1-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 4.1 innings. With the win, Pine Island improves its record to 7-4.
Ken Robinson, who is rated as the 12th best prospect by BNN, chipped in a 2-run home run for Pine Island in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"I like the roll we're on," said Pine Island manager Alfonso Dolton.
