Sixshooters Bump Off Hops, 6-4

The Westwood Sixshooters beat the Yakima Hops, 6-4, at Sixshooters Stadium. Fred McClure went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The 27-year old third baseman was a menace to Yakima all day. Bill Holman got the win, improving to 2-1. He worked 7.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Now 2-10, the 2063 Hops have played a subpar brand of baseball so far.
James Anderson's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 2-2. The Westwood third baseman hit a run-scoring single off Javier Acosta to put the Sixshooters up.
Westwood manager Doug Burton said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
