The Yakima Hops stymied the Lancaster Farmers, 7-2, at Hops Park. Sagramor Asseiceira had a good day at the plate. He went 3 for 4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Yakima. Brian Wayland, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-1. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The win brings the Hops to 3-10, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
In the bottom of the first, 24-year old second baseman Jurrie Kila hit a 2-run single to center. The single, which was hit off of Brent Warner, gave Yakima a 3-0 lead.
"Sagramor is still learning," said Hops manager Giddy Potts. "The sky's the limit for him."
