Highlanders Come Up Short at Westwood, 3-2
The Westwood Sixshooters eked out a 3-2 win versus the Asheville Highlanders at Sixshooters Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Justin MacBurie. He was terrific. MacBurie, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 2 walks. The loss has the Highlanders at 6-8.

Westwood took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Valentín Vargas stroked a 2-run single to make it 3-1, Sixshooters.

MacBurie called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
