Beguer Helps Coeur Beat Divided, 13-7
The St. Louis Coeur defeated the D.C. Divided, 13-7, in part because of designated hitter Jorge Beguer. Beguer went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2 for the Coeur. George Washington came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Chris Gibson got credit for the save for St. Louis. It was his 5th of the year.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Ángel Macías was at the plate when St. Louis scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Coeur to go in front, 8-7.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Beguer.

St. Louis's record now stands at 24-13, placing them first in the Third League.
