Hurricanes Tag Blue Demons with 5-4 Loss
|
Factory of Sadness was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Cape Coral Hurricanes and Mexico City Blue Demons.
Cape Coral beat Mexico City at Factory of Sadness, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to right fielder Jon Turner. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Tom Morris earned the save for Cape Coral, his 2nd.
Karl Johnson came through for Cape Coral when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 1-2 changeup to center field, staking his team to a 5-4 lead.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Cape Coral manager Greg Diersing.
With the win, the Hurricanes improved to 20-19.
