The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids picked up a win at The Voodoo Lounge, downing the New Orleans Voodoo, 6-5. On the mound for Northern Virginia was right-hander Chris Jackson, who played a pivotal role in the win. The win makes Northern Virginia 27-34.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Carlos Ríos? The Northern Virginia second baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 4-1. For the game, Ríos had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
