Dirty Reds Pull Out Late Win, 7-6
The Dayton Dirty Reds had to overcome a big game from Oakland second baseman Floyd Waddell to leave The Oak Grove with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-6, in 11 innings. Waddell was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Stanley Thompson was credited with the save for Dayton, his 5th of the season. The Dirty Reds win now puts them at 26-15.

Dayton used the timely hitting of Steven Forrest to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Dirty Reds on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I like our resilience," said Forrest.
