Nova Scotia Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
Panama City got a decent performance from pitcher Conor Starks, but it wasn't enough to beat the Nova Scotia Leviathan. Nova Scotia won the The Dungeon in Halifax contest, 4-3. Starks threw 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Stan Carter, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-2. He allowed 3 runs on 2 hits in 1 innings. Nova Scotia occupies 7th place in the Third League at 21-20.
Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 35-year old third baseman Mito Kawamura had a chance to be the hero. Panama City pitcher Chris Williams wanted to foil that plan. But with no outs, Kawamura hit a sacrifice fly. The Leviathan had themselves a thrilling win.
"We did enough to win," said Kawamura.
