Hurricanes Lose to Bowties, 5-3
|
Buckhead shortstop Bikila Ayinde made his presence felt in the 5-3 Bowties triumph over the Cape Coral Hurricanes. Ayinde went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Picking up the win was Lloyd McGlory. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 3. Ed House earned his 9th save, after closing out the game.
Buckhead took a 4-2 lead on Ayinde's 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which he hit off Harry Marshall in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Buckhead to the win.
"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Ayinde told a local reporter after the game.
Cape Coral now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
