Win Streak at 7 for Dirty Reds
The Dayton Dirty Reds beat the Oakland Oaks, 9-2, at The Oak Grove. The win was due in part to shortstop Xavier Ortíz, who was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Daryl Crawford got the win, improving to 6-1. He worked 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 4. Dayton has now reeled off 7 straight wins.

Dayton used a well-timed hit by Bob Dennis to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Dirty Reds ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
