The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC defeated the Charleston Battery, 8-3, in Menard's Third League action at Great Northern Field. Thunder Bay pitcher Hakizimana Kipkorir had a standout performance. Mike Allen, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Thunder Bay has rattled off 4 straight wins.

Thunder Bay took a 6-3 lead on Jacob Grimsey's 4th triple of the season. The bases-clearing triple, which Grimsey hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Charleston pitcher Harvey Caldwell visibly frustrated.
