Shredders Slap 4-2 Loss on Las Vegas
|
The Hollywood Shredders got a marvelous performance from pitcher Tom Ward. The left-hander kept the Las Vegas offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-2 Hollywood victory at The Strip. The Shredders now have a record of 33-29 with the win over Las Vegas.
Hollywood designated hitter Rubén Nuañez contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 56th hit of the season and put the Shredders ahead, 3-0.
"Tom is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Hollywood manager Bill Cheese.
