The Charleston Battery handed the Cape Coral Hurricanes a sound defeat, 11-3, at Charleston Armory. Juan Pacheco, who is tied for 7th in the 3L in hits with 52, was a main contributor to the win. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Charleston. Charleston pitcher Immeghar Cherono got the win. He's now 4-3. Bob Smithley was tagged with the loss. The 9th-place Battery are now 22-25, the Hurricanes 24-23.

Chad Ware contributed to the Charleston win. The former first round draft pick stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the third. For the game, Ware was 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"It was great to come out and swing the bats," Ware told the Charleston Times.
