The St. Louis Coeur and Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC got a sterling performance from pitcher Ben Sackett, but the St. Louis Coeur still prevailed, 5-4. Sackett threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Miguel Angel Vargo got credit for the win, improving to 9-1. He allowed 4 runs on 10 hits in 7.2 innings. George Law sewed up the save, his 4th.

St. Louis took a 5-2 lead on Ricardo Pérez's 11th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Pérez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Thunder Bay pitcher Darius Brooks visibly frustrated.

"Getting the win feels nice," said Pérez. "More importantly, I had a good game."

The 6th-place Coeur now have a win-loss record of 24-24.
