Charleston Defeated By Piranhas, 4-1
|
The Panama City Piranhas picked up a win at The Tank, downing the Charleston Battery, 4-1. On the mound for Panama City was right-hander Conor Starks, who played a pivotal role in the win. Starks yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-2. The Piranhas raised their record to 20-29.
The Piranhas got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jonathan Boden. For the game, Boden went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 19th double of the season gave Panama City a 2-1 lead.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Starks told the Panama City Chronicle.
