Dirty Reds Earn Clutch Win, 4-3
|
The Dayton Dirty Reds did just enough to sneak past the Kingston Ponies, 4-3, at Lang Park. Dayton pitcher Tim Moore, in particular, had a standout performance. The Ponies, now 17-32, have lost 6 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Dayton left fielder Samuel Lopez, facing Sam van Elswijk, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Dirty Reds the 4-3 win.
After the game, Dayton manager David Dodds applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
