|
The Buckhead Bowties beat the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 7-2, at 5 Paces Park. Buckhead left fielder Max Pegrum collected 1 single and 1 double with 3 RBI. The winning pitcher was Christian Roberts. He's now 3-5. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits for the Bowties. Tristan Liefting, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Pegrum contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Buckhead in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Pegrum took a fastball from Zebulon Pike and stroked the double to right-center. His 5th double of the season allowed the Bowties to leap in front, 2-1.
Said losing manager Scott Williams: "Give the Bowties credit. They played a better game than we did."
The 8th-place Bowties improved to 23-27.
