Divided Take Tight Tangle
|
The D.C. Divided took Cisco Navarro's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Washington Stadium. The final score had D.C. getting past the Leviathan, 3-2, in 11 innings. Navarro over 8.1 innings allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 3. The setback makes Nova Scotia 27-24.
The game-ending blow was delivered by Kenny Johnson in the bottom of the 11th. That's when he hit a run-scoring double off 28-year old right-handed pitcher Álex Tobías to win it for D.C. and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.
"Our guys refused to lose," said Johnson.
