Ponies Pick Up 4-1 Win
|
The Kingston Ponies beat the Dayton Dirty Reds, 4-1, at Lang Park. Starting pitcher Fred Boman was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Fred Hull picked up the save, his 10th. Kingston is 11th in the Third League with a record of 20-31.
With one out in the top of the sixth, Clifton Roberson barreled up a fastball from Daryl Crawford. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Ponies in front, 4-0.
"We had a good game plan," Boman said, "and we were able to execute it."
