Oaks Win, 6-5, Extend Streak to 5 Games
|
Oakland beat Cape Coral at The Oak Grove, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to second baseman Jorge Morales. He was 1-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Oakland reliever Claude Moulin picked up the win, raising his record to 7-2. Jorge Ortíz was tagged with the loss. Fernando Fonseca got the save, the 8th for him this season.
Hsueh-liang Kam drove in one run for Oakland. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Kam had a clutch at-bat. Facing Cape Coral hurler Jorge Ortíz, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Oaks a 6-5 lead.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Kam.
The Oaks, at 29-26, have now won 5 straight.
