Ponies Lose Again, 6-4, to Leviathan
|
The inspired effort of Kingston third baseman Daniel Long was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-4, to the Nova Scotia Leviathan. Long went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Nova Scotia reliever Iwan Vroom picked up the win to move to 1-0. Edward Small suffered the loss. Picking up the save was John Ellis, his 10th.
The Leviathan got a big at-bat from catcher Stan Bynings. For the game, Bynings went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Nova Scotia a 6-4 lead.
"The tide will turn," said losing manager Rayzor Ray. "We just need to keep our chins up."
The losing streak for Kingston has now reached 8 games.
