Behind a fine performance from Bill Simon, the Toronto Thunder knocked off the Boston Patriots, 9-7. Simon went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Thunder. Picking up the save was 24-year old left-handed pitcher Ron Murphy. Toronto goes to 38-26. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.

Toronto catcher Robbie Miller contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 17th hit of the season and put the Thunder ahead, 5-2.

"Enjoyed this one," Simon told the Toronto Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
