Bowties Use Late Score to Top Northern Lions BC, 2-1
|
The Buckhead Bowties scored a tight, 2-1 win versus the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at 5 Paces Park. Buckhead pitcher Edward Margaret held his own in the contest. The win belonged to Rory May in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Marx Lieftink took the loss for Thunder Bay. The Bowties improved their record to 27-33 with the win over Thunder Bay.
Dominic Walter was the walk-off hero for Buckhead. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bowties right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Tip of the cap to the Bowties," said Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams. "They played a good game."
