Oaks Earn Clutch Win, 6-5
|
The Oakland Oaks cut down the Colorado Billy Goats by the score of 6-5, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Raúl Vega. Vega hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Oaks. The winner in relief was Cipriano Rosas. He is now 1-2. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Oakland has now won 4 games in a row.
Vega had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 0-1 sinker from Hunter Stinson, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Oaks a 6-5 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Vega.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Vega.
