Blue Demons Sunk by Cattlemen
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Ft. Worth Cattlemen and the Mexico City Blue Demons, Cisco Hernández was the X factor. The Ft. Worth right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. The winning pitcher was Hernández, now 2-2. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. The victory puts Ft. Worth at 19-45.
The Cattlemen got a big at-bat from third baseman Mario Arévalo. For the game, Arévalo was 4 for 4 with 3 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Ft. Worth a 2-0 lead.
Hernández told a Ft. Worth Citizen reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
