Turner goes 4-for-4 in Cape Coral Win
|
The Cape Coral Hurricanes beat the Baltimore Bullets, 7-3, at Factory of Sadness. The win was due in part to right fielder Jon Turner, who went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was Lawrence Higgins. His record now stands at 8-5. The right-hander went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits for the Hurricanes. Cape Coral is 4th in the Third League with a record of 35-28.
Turner contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Cape Coral in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 3-2, Turner took a slider from Adrian Goff and stroked the home run to center. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Hurricanes to leap in front, 4-3.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Turner told the Cape Coral Times.
