Rock City Lose to Bullets, 5-3
|
Baltimore and Detroit duked it out and the Bullets came out victorious.
The Baltimore Bullets topped the Detroit Rock City, 5-3, in Menard's Third League action at Baltimore Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Baltimore pitcher and Brick, New Jersey, native Dawson Bishop. The winning pitcher was Bishop, now 9-5. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 8.
Gilbert Guy went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Baltimore. The 28-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Waweru Kamili. It was his 28th RBI of the season.
"Dawson was able to execute his pitches," said Baltimore manager Chris Schubert. "Simple as that."
The Bullets now own a record of 30-34.
