Ponies Take Tight Tangle
The Kingston Ponies withstood a fine game by Oakland designated hitter José Eiriz at The Oak Grove, to upend the Oaks, 10-9. Eiriz went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Fred Hull earned the save for Kingston, his 12th of the year. The 11th-place Ponies have won 4 in a row.

Kingston used a clutch hit from Daniel Long to get the win. The third baseman drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Ponies ahead, 9-6. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"We came out aggressive," said Ponies manager Rayzor Ray. "We came out swinging the bats."
