Divided Suffer One-Run Loss at Dayton
|
The Dayton Dirty Reds eked out a 3-2 win versus the D.C. Divided at Lang Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Ioachime Yakutin. He was terrific. The winner was Yakutin. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Ignacio Rodríguez. Bhagavan Antle collected his 15th save.
Dayton designated hitter Samuel Lopez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Dirty Reds ahead, 3-0.
"Ioachime can overpower you," said Dayton manager David Dodds.
Dayton has an impressive 43-22 record.
