Dirty Reds Get Hard-Earned Win
|
Dayton right-hander Juan Rodríguez helped his team edge Vancouver by the score of 3-2. Rodríguez kept the opposing lineup in check. Picking up the save was Mike Carney, his 14th. The setback makes Vancouver 39-26.
Dayton took a 3-2 lead on Steven Forrest's 12th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Forrest hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Vancouver pitcher Randall Larkin shaking his head.
After the game, Dayton manager David Dodds applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
