Oakland Oaks starter Brian Jackson turned in a top-notch performance against the Mexico City Blue Demons at The Squared Circle. The result was a win for the Oaks, 4-2. David Farías earned the save for Oakland, his 18th of the year. Oakland has a record of 37-29, placing them 4th in the Third League.
Floyd Waddell had a big solo home run for the Oaks in the top of the second inning. With Oakland leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a changeup from 36-year old right-handed pitcher Wulf Hinkamp and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Oaks on top, 2-0.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Jackson. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
