Battery Run Win Streak to 7

The Cape Coral Hurricanes and Charleston Battery provided some drama for the home crowd.
Though he had a stellar game, Don Clarke could not prevent his team, the Cape Coral Hurricanes, from losing, 4-3, to the Charleston Battery. Clarke went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. Rush Moore, who is rated as the 58th best prospect by BNN, was the winning pitcher. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, with 4 walks and no strikeouts. Wesley Perkins picked up the save, his 7th.
Charleston used a well-timed hit by Dennis Kemp to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Battery ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We found a way to get it done," Kemp said.
The Battery have now reeled off 7 straight wins.
