The New Orleans Voodoo dealt the Hollywood Shredders a 6-5 loss at The Hollywood Bowl. Jorge Valdés was the star on offense. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Bob Douglas notched his 13th save of the season. The 8th-place Shredders dropped to 28-37.

Had Clint Sheffield not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Sheffield hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Voodoo.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Valdés.
