Bowties Reel Off Another Win
The Buckhead Bowties weathered an outstanding game by Kingston second baseman Phil Brooks to topple the Ponies, 8-7. Brooks went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Buckhead reliever Homer Mathis was the winner. His record is now 2-3. George Taylor took the loss. Tristan Liefting earned the save for Buckhead, his 2nd of the year.

Buckhead used a clutch hit from Felipe Madrid to snatch the win. The left fielder belted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bowties ahead, 8-6. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Madrid. "Those qualities define our team."

Buckhead has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
