Buckhead turned a good effort from starter Mark Garland into a win over the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at Great Northern Field. The final score was 5-2. In 8 innings, Garland surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. The Bowties saw their win-loss record go to 39-33. At the same time, the Northern Lions BC fell to 33-39.
Buckhead used a well-timed hit by Cheong-hun Park to capture the win. The second baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to put the Bowties ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Park.
