Cortés Delivers 5-1 Win
The Nova Scotia Leviathan downed the St. Louis Coeur, 5-1, at The Dungeon in Halifax. Stellar pitching by Dan Cortés had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the 3L with a 9.3 K/9 rate, handcuffed his opponent all game. Nova Scotia is in 11th place in the Third League with a record of 30-43.

Cortés dominated for Nova Scotia, raising his record to 4-8. St. Louis hitters had few good at-bats against the right-hander, who scattered 4 hits over 8 innings while striking out 8.

"I like winning," Cortés told the Nova Scotia Observer. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
