The Echo Park Lakers converted a terrific effort from starter Bernardo Cruz into a win over the Charleston Battery at Charleston Armory. The Lakers won the game by a final score of 4-2. The victory gives Echo Park a record of 41-32.

Orlando Gonzáles came through with a big-time hit for Echo Park. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Gonzáles. "And not try to do too much."
