The Echo Park Lakers knocked off the Charleston Battery, 5-1, in Menard's Third League action at LA Forum. Echo Park pitcher and São José dos Campos, Brazil, native Roberto Chaumond had an outstanding performance. Echo Park is now 42-32, while Charleston is 24-50.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Lakers grabbed the lead when Ángel Miranda rapped a two-out single. Echo Park was trailing 1-0, when Miranda hit a 2-run single off Pham Phung to put his team in front, 2-1.

"Roberto gave us everything he had," said Echo Park manager Jordan Calhoun.
