In a low-scoring contest between the Dayton Dirty Reds and the Kingston Ponies, 26-year old right-handed pitcher Éric Lemaire proved to be the difference. The Dayton right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Dirty Reds win. Picking up the save was Derrick Pearson, his 1st. Kingston now owns a losing streak of 5 games.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Mariano Juderías came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Kingston pitcher Ethan Morse, he hit a first pitch screwball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Dayton on top, 3-2.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Kingston skipper Rayzor Ray.
