The Dayton Dirty Reds beat the Charleston Battery, 4-1, at Lang Park. Starting pitcher Daryl Crawford was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Mike Carney was credited with the save for Dayton, his 15th of the season. Dayton is 42-32 and Charleston, with the loss, 36-38.

Making an impact for the home team was Lang Ouyang. In the bottom of the fifth, the 33-year old left fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Dirty Reds.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Crawford told the Dayton News.
