Bowties Need Extra Frames to Get Past Dirty Reds
The Buckhead Bowties faced a tough opponent in Dayton pitcher Eric Talley, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Lang Park by a final score of 5-3 in 11 innings. Talley went 8.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win was credited to 27-year old right-handed pitcher Ed House in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Mike Carney took the loss. Their 36-40 record puts the Bowties 9th in the Third League.

José Díaz was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Buckhead. The 28-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the 11th. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Mike Carney. It was his 6th RBI of the season.

In postgame remarks, Díaz simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
