D.C. starter Ignacio Rodríguez kept the Thunder Bay offense from doing much damage. The left-hander leaned on his curveball in leading the Divided to a 4-1 win. Rodríguez got the win, improving to 6-7. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. David Guzmán earned the save, his 10th.

Joaquín Rodríguez, who finished 2nd in the 3L in doubles with 28 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Rodríguez contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put D.C. up, 3-0.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said D.C. skipper Jonathan Gerth.

The Divided win now puts them at 41-36.
