The Charleston Battery had to overcome a big game from St. Louis center fielder Mal Parker to leave The BFIB with a victory. And they did, winning, 4-2. Parker went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2. Pham Phung, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 11-1. Picking up his 17th save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Carlos Mejía.

Charleston used the hitting of Lang Ouyang to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Battery on top, 3-1. For the game, Ouyang had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

After the game, Charleston manager Matt Hunt applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

The Battery improved their record to 48-30 by beating St. Louis.
